A massive fire broke out early Monday morning on the set of Anupamaa, the highest-rated show, at Mumbai’s Film City in Goregaon. The source of the blaze is still under investigation, but footage from the site shows raging flames and dense smoke overwhelming key set areas. The fire reportedly caused heavy damage to major filming zones. According to the reports, five fire engines were deployed immediately after the incident was reported. Firefighters reached the scene swiftly and worked tirelessly to contain the blaze. In a stroke of luck, no injuries or casualties have been reported, despite the intensity of the fire.
Sharing a video from the site, IANS tweeted, “Mumbai: A fire broke out early morning at the Anupamaa serial set in Mumbai’s Goregaon Film City. Five fire brigade vehicles responded promptly, and no injuries have been reported.”
Iconic Krishnakunj and Kothari Sets Damaged
More visuals surfaced, confirming that both the Krishnakunj and Kothari house sets—crucial to the show’s plot—have suffered visible damage. The video clips captured plumes of smoke rising high, with emergency crews battling the flames at multiple points. The fire was classified as a Level-I emergency by the Mumbai Fire Brigade, with the origin traced back to a tent structure on set. The incident was logged at 6:26 am.
