The year 2007 remains one of Bollywood’s most successful years at the box office. Even in 2024, 2007 appears almost dreamy, with a lineup of movies that not only won hearts but also shattered box office records.

The Year 2007 saw a unique mix of genres and storytelling that delighted audiences and set a high bar for future films.

At the top of the list is Farah Khan’s “Om Shanti Om,” a reincarnation drama starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, which grossed an impressive ₹151 crore worldwide.

Following closely is “Welcome,” a comedy directed by Anees Bazmee, which earned ₹122 crore and became a cult favourite for its humorous plot and memorable performances. The Movie also became a meme material for the meme pages.

“Chak De! India,” directed by Shimit Amin, took the third spot, grossing ₹107 crore. This sports drama, featuring Shah Rukh Khan as a hockey coach, struck a chord with the audience, blending patriotism with an inspiring storyline.

“Partner,” a comedy by David Dhawan, raked in ₹103 crore, showcasing the comic timing of Salman Khan and Govinda.

Aamir Khan’s directorial debut, “Taare Zameen Par,” earned ₹97 crore, touching hearts with its sensitive portrayal of a dyslexic child.

Sajid Khan’s comedy “Heyy Babyy” collected ₹84 crore, while Mani Ratnam’s “Guru,” a biographical drama, grossed ₹83.67 crore, solidifying its place in cinematic history.

“Bhool Bhulaiyaa,” a horror-comedy by Priyadarshan, made ₹83 crore, while the romantic drama “Namastey London,” directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif earned ₹71 crore, ending the list on a high note.

The success of these films in 2007 demonstrated Bollywood’s ability to blend entertainment with meaningful storytelling, a feat that continues to inspire filmmakers even today.
