The re-release of Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (RHTDM) has proven to be a remarkable decision! Originally released in 2001, the romantic drama starring R. Madhavan, Dia Mirza, and Saif Ali Khan didn’t fare well at the box office during its initial run.
Despite its underwhelming performance at the Box office, the film slowly became a cult classic, largely due to its repeated telecasts on TV. Fans couldn’t help but watch it again and again, making it a fan favourite.
Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (RHTDM) was re-released and surprised everyone
Fast forward to 2024, RHTDM was re-released in theatres on August 30, and it managed to surprise everyone. From its opening day, the film performed well with its targeted audience, generating nostalgia among 90s kids who hold this movie dear. The film, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, has not only recovered its budget in its second run but also achieved a commercial success that eluded it 23 years ago.
Impressive Box Office Collections
RHTDM had a good start on its opening day, earning 20 lakh, which was beyond expectations. The film jumped with the collection of 40 lakh on Saturday. By Sunday, the film’s box office collection surged to 50 lakh, marking it a more than 20% increase compared to its original opening day collection of 41 lakh in 2001.
