What started as a lighthearted chat turned into a full-fledged variety show of Bollywood confessions, showcasing everything from secret cooking skills to awkward massage mishaps from movie sets of the past.

Metro… In Dino Stars Light Up the Stage

The second episode brought together the cast of Anurag Basu’s upcoming ensemble film Metro In Dino, and they delivered far more than film promotions. Between witty exchanges and nostalgic trips, the show gave audiences an unfiltered peek into the off-screen lives of these stars. And yes, the vibe was more “comedy circus” than “press junket.” Kapil Sharma kicked off the talent revelations by praising director Anurag Basu as a master multitasker, even complimenting his culinary chops. Anupam Kher added that Basu is also a decent dancer. Basu, ever the realist, revealed he learned multiple skills because “you always need a Plan B in this industry.” Not to be outdone, Pankaj Tripathi casually revealed he was once a chef at a hotel. Move over MasterChef—Bollywood’s kitchen crew is coming.

Anupam Kher’s Unexpected Career Twist

Then came the ultimate twist—Anupam Kher announcing he once did massages for a living. Cue the laughter, but he wasn’t joking. After graduating from the National School of Drama, he spotted an ad for a hotel’s massage course, did it for three months, and worked for two. “I actually gave massages,” he said with a straight face, leaving everyone on set and at home in stitches.

That Hum Set Incident: Lights, Laughter, and Bachchan’s Burn

Anupam wasn’t done. Recalling a moment from the shooting of Hum, he shared how he was massaging co-stars—including Danny Denzongpa and Shilpa Shirodkar’s mother—when a power cut happened mid-massage. In the dark, Shilpa’s mother blurted out, “Oh Anupam!” loud enough for everyone to hear. Instantly, Amitabh Bachchan cracked up and shouted, “Bhaiya, jaldi light lao!” It’s a story Big B still teases Kher about—and now it’s comedy gold for the rest of us too.

If you thought The Great Indian Kapil Show was just celebrity fluff, this episode was proof that it’s a time capsule of India’s film industry—served with a side of chaos and charm. Between Anupam Kher’s massage diploma and Amitabh Bachchan’s epic timing, this week’s show gave us the kind of laughter we didn’t know we needed. Bring on the next episode—we’re hooked.
