Last night’s episode of Wheel of Fortune turned into a laughter riot when veteran actor Shakti Kapoor shared a priceless memory from his early film career, leaving host Akshay Kumar and the live audience doubled over with laughter.
Right from the start, Akshay set the tone with a playful question:
“Shakti ji, mujhe pata hai aap bahut saari movies karte the. Ek baar T Rama Rao ke set pe pahunche the tab aapse uthak-baithak karwayi thi… aisa kuch hua tha?”
And just like that, the nostalgia train left the station.
“7 Means 7. Not 7:15.”
Shakti, known for his effortless comic timing, smiled and dived straight into the story.
He described legendary filmmaker T. Rama Rao as someone extremely close to him — but also fiercely disciplined.
“Rama Rao ji was very close to me, but he was a very disciplined person like you,” he joked, pointing at Akshay.
Then came the punchline setup.
“7 baje bola toh 7 baje. Main 7 baje ke bajay 7:15 pahucha. Zeenat Aman ji bhi aa chuki thi. Phir unhone poocha, ‘Shakti kaha hai?’”
Fifteen minutes late. Sounds harmless.
Not on Rama Rao’s set.
“No Sorry — 15 Sit-Ups!”
Shakti animatedly reenacted the moment, copying the director’s stern voice.
“Maine sorry bola… toh unhone kaha — ‘No sorry. 15 times sit-ups!’”
That was it.
The studio erupted.
Akshay couldn’t hold back his laughter, and neither could the audience. Shakti’s expressive retelling turned a simple discipline lesson into the funniest segment of the night.
Honestly? Only he could make punishment sound like prime-time comedy gold.
A Feel-Good Highlight
Moments like these are exactly why the show works — unscripted, nostalgic, and full of personality. Shakti’s candid storytelling added a warm, throwback charm that fans absolutely loved.
The episode aired last night on Sony Entertainment Television and streamed on Sony LIV, delivering one of the most entertaining highlights of the season.
