Akshay Kumar continues to expand his filmography with projects across multiple genres, and one of his most intriguing upcoming films is the reported alien thriller Samuk. The project has been generating buzz for quite some time, and fresh reports now suggest that the film is finally moving into production.
According to the latest industry reports, the makers have begun preparations for the ambitious thriller, with principal photography expected to commence later this month in London. Samuk reportedly to begin shooting on August 23
As per reports, Samuk is scheduled to go on floors on August 23, with London serving as the primary shooting location. Nearly 90 percent of the film is expected to be shot in the UK, while the remaining portions will reportedly be filmed in Mumbai.
The production team is said to be planning a continuous shooting schedule to complete the project efficiently. If the reports are accurate, the film will mark another collaboration between Akshay Kumar and producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who have previously worked together on films such as Aankhen, Waqt: The Race Against Time, Namastey London, Singh Is Kinng, and Action Replayy.
A rare alien thriller for Hindi cinema
Directed by Kanishk Varma, Samuk is being described as a large-scale alien thriller, a genre that has been relatively unexplored in Indian mainstream cinema.
Reports also suggest that the makers have brought international technicians on board for the project, including creature effects specialist Alec Gillis and action specialist Luke Tumber, indicating that the film may rely heavily on advanced visual effects and action choreography.
If completed as planned, Samuk could become one of Akshay Kumar’s most technically ambitious projects in recent years.
