Social media sensation and television personality Faisal Shaikh, popularly known as Mr. Faisu, has finally addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding his participation in Lock Upp 2. The influencer-turned-actor has been making headlines in recent weeks amid reports suggesting he could be one of the contestants on the upcoming reality show. However, Faisal has now clarified his stance while also opening up about his future career plans and his experience working with television celebrities.
In a recent interview, the Laughter Chefs star made it clear that his focus has shifted beyond reality television, revealing that he is now concentrating on films and OTT projects instead.
Faisal Shaikh reacts to rumours of joining Lock Upp 2
Addressing reports linking him to Lock Upp 2, Faisal dismissed the speculation, indicating that he is unlikely to be seen inside the reality show’s house.
While he did not confirm receiving an offer, the actor suggested that the makers are probably looking for fresh faces this season, effectively putting an end to rumours of his participation.
His statement also confirms that he will not be joining the reality show, which is expected to be hosted by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh.
Mr. Faisu says reality shows are no longer his priority
During the conversation, Faisal admitted that he is no longer interested in participating in reality shows as a contestant.
Sharing his future plans, he said, “Main naye reality shows ke peeche nahi bhaag raha hoon aur na hi mujhe unmein koi dilchaspi hai.”
Explaining what he meant, Faisal said he now wants to focus on growing as an actor and is actively looking towards opportunities in films and OTT platforms rather than competitive reality television.
He added that if he ever returns to a reality show, it would only be in a different capacity, such as a host or a gang leader instead of a contestant.
Faisal Shaikh on his Laughter Chefs family
The influencer also spoke fondly about his experience on Laughter Chefs, revealing that the cast has developed a close bond over time.
According to Faisal, everyone on the show now feels like one big family, and that camaraderie extends beyond the sets.
“Kisi bhi event mein aap un sabhi ko ek saath dekhenge. Saath rehna aur saath kaam karna achhi baat hai. Ismein ek alag hi maza hai,” he said.
In English, Faisal was expressing that the cast enjoys spending time together not only while filming but also at events, making the experience much more enjoyable because of their genuine friendship.
Why Faisal compared TV stars to kitchen ingredients
One of the lighter moments from the interview came when Faisal playfully described his fellow television stars using cooking ingredients.
He likened Krushna Abhishek to a potato, saying he fits perfectly into every situation. Bharti Singh, according to him, is like cardamom because she enhances everything she’s a part of.
He described Karan Kundrra as cloves, saying he is currently in high demand, while Ankita Lokhande reminded him of red chilli. Tejasswi Prakash and Jannat Zubair, meanwhile, were compared to bird’s eye chillies—small in size but packed with impact, perfectly summing up the phrase “chhota packet, bada dhamaka.”
With his focus now firmly set on scripted projects, Faisal Shaikh appears ready to take the next step in his career, leaving reality competition shows behind as he eyes opportunities in films and the OTT space.
